Outings
Participants of our outings will be picked up at pre-arranged points which are convenient to them. Additional arrangements can be made for people, where necessary’ to be picked up from home. We then travel by Minibus or, in some cases, private cars, to our chosen destination for the day.
We always mix outings in the local area with outings further away as some of your participants can not travel long distances anymore.
There is no fixed charge for any of our outings. However, donations are welcome to help with costs.
Thanks to the huge effort and generosity of our community and benefactors further afield, it has been possible for GAMS to purchase a Disabled Access Minibus. This has enabled us to offer places on these outings to people with various degrees of disability.

Inverness Castle (2nd group) 29th of April
After a wonderful drive in bright sunshine we had a nice meal in V8 in Inverness. The second group enjoyed the castle as much as the first one. Our dear Margaret had a very special day as her grandparents married under the rose window.

Inverness Castle (1st group) 18th of March
The first outing in 2026 was a trip to Inverness Castle on the 18th of March. After lunch in Bella Italia our seniors were welcomed to the castle by a very helpful team. Three of them got wheelchairs which the castle provides. They enjoyed the exhibition especially the tapestries and the beautiful view.

Screen Machine: Mother's Pride
Our second outing on the 6th of April was a visit to the Screen Machine watching 'Mother's Pride'. Everybody had a good laugh in this wonderful little,
mobile cinema.

Pre-Christmas Outing, Inverness 22nd November 2021
On 22nd November 2021 saw a full minibus heading for Inverness to enjoy our ever-popular pre-Christmas outing to Inverness.
We were, greeted as usual, with a warm welcome at Bella Italia Restaurant, where everyone enjoyed a delicious meal. Following on, it was lovely to see the festive lights, especially the beautiful Christmas tree in Falcon Square. Some did a little shopping and others even had time for a cup of tea in Marks and Spencer’s restaurant, before boarding the mini bus and heading for home.

Attadale Gardens 6th September 2021
GAMS trips are again underway. We have had many months of inactivity due to Covid, so the news of a trip to Attadale was welcomed with open arms. We were made very welcome by the owners as always. A delicious lunch of sandwiches and cake were served on the terrace, followed by an opportunity to enjoy a relaxed stroll around the gardens. We were all amazed at so many additions have been made to this beautiful place.

Applecross 14th October 2021
There was no bother filling the bus for our next trip on the 14th. October. The weatherman could have been kinder, but this did not dampen the spirits of our passengers. We enjoyed the views of the coastal road. On arrival, a delicious lunch was served by the ever-hospitable Applecross Inn. We then visited the extremely interesting Applecross Heritage Centre. One of the highlights was, as we were boarding the bus, we witnessed the sound of a red deer rut coming from the surrounding hills. Our return was the exciting journey over the Bealach.

Gairloch Heritage Museum 4th March 2020
Our first outing in 2020 was a visit to the Gairloch Heritage Museum.
Little did we know that it would be the only one.
We went along in small groups, investigating the geology of the area, creating earthquakes, and sharing memories of the old days. One of the highlights was a film, which gave us an opportunity to hear the voices of some well-loved people.
Following our visit to the museum, we went to the Gairloch Community Hall where tea/coffee and cakes were served

Pre-Christmas Outing to Inverness
On the 25th November 2015 we visited Inverness. Generous donation of Tesco vouchers from local people contributed to our most enjoyable two course lunch in Bella Italia. The restaurant provided Christmas crackers and decorations which added to the fun of the day. After lunch the participants enjoyed some free time to go into town, meet friends and browse the shops before heading back home. Assistance was available for anyone who was unable to get around
on their own.
Because of the great success, this will be an annual event.
